Parents ask
Questions parents ask
What’s the difference between an academy and a house league?
House leagues are recreational and open to everyone. Academies add structured training from qualified coaches, usually with smaller groups, more sessions per week and a development plan for each player.
What age should my child start?
Most programs take children from age 4 or 5. Early programs focus on fun and basic skills; more competitive streams usually start around age 9 to 12.
When do registrations and tryouts happen?
It varies by sport and club. Many soccer clubs register in winter for spring and summer seasons, while hockey tryouts often run in late summer. Contact each academy directly for dates.
Is AcademyList free for parents?
Yes. Searching, comparing and contacting academies is always free for families.
